NAVIGATE YOURSELF AROUND UNA UNA ISLAND

Have you ever wondered how the dive guides always find the dive sites and know their way underwater? In the Navigation Speciality Course you will learn the skills to successful dive and navigate. Underwater navigation is very different from navigating on land. First thing is we don’t have the same visibility as on land. Furthermore, on land we don`t have to deal with currents or waves.

Navigation skills are especially helpful on dives with with a poor visibility and you aren’t able to see the reference points that you are use to. When you have good skills in navigation you will reduce your surface swims and you feel more confident by having more knowledge where you are.

NAVIGATION SPECIALITY COURSE

Duration: 2 days
Dives: 2 dives

You have already learn some basic navigation skills in your entry level divers course, but to be able to successfully navigate and know your surrounding’s you need some advanced navigation training.

During the academic training session you will study your navigation manual and complete the knowledge reviews independently. You will go through the theory with your instructor and you will get presentations from the areas you want to gain more knowledge.

During the practical sessions in open water dives you will learn how to navigate by using natural references and using compass in different ways and different patterns.
